In 1942, the late Mohammed Ayub Ansari, a man of vision and commitment, entered the business of manufacturing and exporting hand made carpets. In 1966 his son, Naimullah Ansari, changed the form of the company and named it the M.A. Trading Company, after his father. It was Naimullah Ansari who took the initiative of finding new markets, and he was also the main figure behind the design team. He introduced Scandinavian style hand woven woollen druggets/ durries, and made the MAT a well known name in the market.
Now the company deals in a wide range of Indian carpets. Naimullah Ansari and his sons believe that it is the design, quality, colour and price of the carpets that attracts the customers and the end users. M.A. Trading has an eminent team of creative designers both from India and abroad.
MAT is now run by professionals under the leadership of the third generation, Shakeel Ansari and Rashid Ansari. The company is a manufacturer, exporter and wholesale supplier of hand made carpets from India.
Vision
Mat The Basics After the introduction of the new generation in MAT - Shakeel Ansari as CEO and Rashid Ansari as COO - "The MAT" has become the supplier of various brands and labels. Recently we started our own label and brand: MAT THE BASICS. This is a lifestyle concept which we are marketing as affordable design products in contemporary style.
Goal & Commitment
Our commitment is to provide our workers with the best possible working environment, particularly the craftsmen and the weavers, assuring them the right value for their work. Ours is the only company in our trade where the CEO is directly involved in improving the workers' living standard and ensuring them inflation-related wage increases.
